Providence At Cafe S152.
On Sunday 25th October, the Providence family enjoyed an intimate Sunday gathering in a popular cafe, in the heart of Sunnybank. It was a great opportunity for church members to bring their friends, to hear from God's Word in a casual and familiar space.
The formal part of the service began with singing to God led by song leaders Andy and Addie. Addie welcomed everyone, stating:
"Isn't it wonderful that we can do church in a cafe? That the church is not about having the perfect building or the perfect space? Rather it's about people gathering together, and being made perfect in Jesus."
After some singing and a short prayer led by Megan, Pastor Mikey delivered a talk from the book of Acts.
Mikey took a look at the world's longest standing, revolutionary movement - the spreading of the Gospel. We were encouraged to see that ordinary Christians have spread the gospel, throughout the ages, and across every culture, because they believe that Jesus fulfils the world's greatest need: the forgiveness of sin and an end to brokenness and suffering.
We are very thankful to Kate and Joseph, owners of Cafe S152 for lending us their space for this service.
The Providence family will return to the Sunnybank Bowls Club on Sunday 1st November. Doors open at 4.30pm for tea and coffee before church.
