Volunteering For Operation Christmas Child

Last Saturday, the Providence family visited the Operation Christmas Child warehouse to assist with the packing, sorting and sending of toy filled shoeboxes, to children in need.
It was an eye opening experience where we were confronted by the sheer amount of work involved in sending out shoeboxes each year.

Upon arrival at the warehouse in Yeronga, we were shocked to see the room filled from floor to ceiling with colourful shoeboxes! Each shoebox was filled with toys, clothes, stationary and hygiene products.
Our job involved sorting the boxes into categories based on age/sex, as well as opening each box to remove any dangerous or inappropriate items.

Volunteering at the Operation Christmas Child warehouse is a fun and practical way to serve our world, and ensures that the tens of thousands of shoeboxes get processed in time for Christmas!
